The Ötztal or Ötz Valley is the longest tributary of the Inn Valley in Tyrol, with a total length of 67 kilometres. The valley became better known after a 5000-year old mummy was discovered in the Ötztal Alps and subsequently named Ötzi. The iceman was also the inspiration for one of the big attractions in the valley – Ötzi-Dorf in Umhausen. Apart from the obvious natural beauty and outdoor activities such as hiking and skiing, other major tourist attractions include the Aqua Dome spa in Längenfeld, Lake Piburg, the water adventure park Area47, and the Stuiben Waterfall.
